Funniest link - www.bushorchimp.com,
George W. Bush, or a Chimpanzee?
Well, folks, we Washington-dwellers are in a hoot (which
presumably happens every four years, though I haven't cared as much in
the past). George Walker "Duhhhhhbya" Bush has of course, by this
time, been sworn in for a good 10 hours. You may all think, yeah!
Out with the sleaze!
(Clinton is laughing at Dubya cos Bill knows he still has all the privileges
without any of the responsibilities, like this picture below would have
use believe
BUT! While Bill Clinton was the definition of sleazebag,
he was a good president. His one fault was foreign policy...but otherwise,
what is there to complain about? Add to the fact that he's a FUN
GUY. Can we say that about Dubya? I, for one, will miss him,
though I have spent the past 8 years complaining, in retrospect, if Clinton's
policy certain Middle Eastern countries were better, I would want him for
another term. Do you know how sad it was when I was watching his
plane takeoff on TV? It was!
Clinton leaving on Air Force One for New York
=(
HOWEVER:
I've heard Dubya isn't that bad once he's off the air,
so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
MY REPORT is that:
Well, apparently last night there were a bunch of high
class parties, including a Texas Ball, (second
Texas Ball link) where...uh...celebrities were invited to be...Texan....that
was Friday night, Saturday night there were 9 or so official balls too.
Downtown DC was crazy, I was having lunch in a hotel, and it looked like EVERYBODY had just come from the ceremonies, and that's all people were talking about. Heck, local NBC coverage went until 5 pm!! Okay, earlier today, it seems Clinton pardoned dozens of people, and made some final enactments regarding environmental stuff, etc. You know what Bush did after 12:00? He blocked all those acts, except the pardons! Gimme a break! Anyway, back to the story......Who was there....let's see, well, Presidents Carter and Bush Sr. were there, all the senators..Bob Dole, Joe Lieberman....needless to say the streets were packed, I hear traffic was a mess....they showed aerial shots...and it was just nuts. Add to the fact that the OFFICIAL parade didn't start until 3, but there were all sorts of crazy things going down the street before that, like a 30 foot bald eagle...I dunno, I was pretty amazed that this enormous hoopla was going on...I never thought the USA would make such a big deal about one person. Though I hear it's nothing out of the ordinary, in fact I think Grover Cleveland's parade was SIX HOURS. Interesting as well, when the motorcade left the capitol, these guys were running alongside the cars! Then, Bush and his wife started walking, at which point I left the hotel, thereby leaving CNN...which left me coming back here, dying to update my site, especially with this rather significant news. For the last several hours, I have been scouring AOL, the Washington Post's website, and CNN.com for info and pics.
Here is all the stuff I have taken from various sources.

THIS!It takes a while to load, but once you have loaded it, you
can actually access it on your hard drive. To do this, once it has
loaded in your browser, search your hard drive by going to Start menu,
Find, Advanced tab, files of type "quicktime movie." I don't remember
the name of the movie, but it will pull up all the quicktime movies on
your hard drive, and open one with an unfamiliar name. When you find
it, rename it and put it in a useful folder.
